Blackout Theatre Company kicks off its 20th season with the return of its longest-running sketch comedy, Blackout Tonight! Blackout 2nite 4ever calls back to the end of summer, when everyone has their eyes on the future but can’t help but relive the past. It will feature brand new sketches as well as some favorites from the last 20 yea rs. “Blackout has consistently performed work that celebrates New Mexico’s culture and voices,” says Leonard Madrid, Blackout’s longest-running member. “This show will be no different.” Appearances by Lil’ Hungry, Russian Child, and other past characters will delight long-time audiences alongside brand-new sketches. The show features a lineup of current and former Blackout members including Ericka Olvera, Chris Walsh, Steve Blacksmith, Hailey Tolleson, Caroline Toby Graham, and director Gavin Barrera. “Sketch and improv were some of the first projects I worked on with Blackout and that got me into the world of local theatre as a whole,” says Barrera. “I’m honored to carry on this double-decade tradition and excited about the new ways here and forward we can make people laugh.”
